Christmas '08

We had a great Christmas and hope everyone else had a great one too!!! Once again this Christmas Peyton got TONS of stuff. She is so spoiled. She really is a lucky little girl with lots of people that love her very much who like to spoil her. Just to name some of her favorite things she got.......

*Her Barbie Bike
*Her Red Retro Kitchen
*Her new Table and Chairs
*Her Easel for Painting
*Mouse House
*Princess Tea Set
and so much more!!

It was also so wonderful to have Joel home for Christmas. We have missed him so so so much and are sad he has to leave again tomorrow morning. Here are a few of the pictures from Christmas morning. Looking through them I just found out I didn't take any of Peyton in her Christmas dress. So sad because she looked so so cute. She wore a fur coat that I had when I was her age that my aunt and uncle gave me. Hope you enjoy the pics!

Comet and a New Vacuum

So with that person gone that I was talking about in my earlier post, these last couple weeks have been a trial for me. Peyton really knows how to push my buttons and by that I mean ALL of my buttons. She has really been testing me lately thinking she will get away with more things. I feel like all I have been doing lately is yelling at her to stop that, knock that off, please listen to me, and the list goes on and on and on!!

I know this time with Peyton one on one has been good and will be good for both of us, if we can just continue to not totally drive each other crazy. So the whole reason why my post title says Comet and a New Vacuum is because of this.......

On Saturday I was doing a little cleaning around my house and Peyton wanted to help. When she wants to help I just give her a damp cloth and tell her to go wipe down her room. Well this last time Peyton thought she was being extra helpful.

When ever I clean and vacuum I usually use that carpet odor stuff......you know the stuff that looks like baby powder. Apparently Peyton found the comet and thought it was my carpet stuff. She went around the living room and hall way dumping that stuff EVERYWHERE. When I came out of my room to check on her she had already used the whole, almost full can, of comet. All I could do was scream. My first thought was it would bleach my carpet if I didn't get it off immediately. I hurried and vacuumed the huge mess almost choking to death from the comet dust. After it was cleaned up I went to vacuum my bedroom and noticed that my vacuum was no longer sucking anything up and only shooting out comet dust. I decided to take the whole vacuum apart and clean it thinking that this would help. Today I went to vacuum up a mess Peyton had created on my floor. The vacuum didn't work again. After looking at it I knew we would have to get a new one. So off to Target we went. The thing that makes me the maddest is that the old vacuum we had wasn't even old......we bought it about 10 months ago :( I hope this new one can handle all of Peyton's messes!

Is It Over Yet?

Okay so this post might be depressing for some.......If you are one that loves Christmas and never wants it to end you better stop reading NOW!! I just have to say that I am ready for this holiday season to be over. I am ready to take my tree down, all my lights on the outside, and all the Christmas decor on the inside that is EVERYWHERE. The only thing I am not wanting to stop is the smell of my salt city candles which is Christmas trimmings.

I think I am feel this way for a few different reason......#1 being that it just doesn't even feel like Christmas this year or any other year since I moved away from my parents. And #2 the fact that someone is gone right now (most everyone knows who I am talking about and don't want to make it obvious for the weirdo's out there!) who I really wish was here to help me make it feel like Christmas.

I just keep thinking only 8 mores days and it will all be over. I hope everyone else is enjoying there holiday season more then I am!

.....Family Photos.....

My best friend Nicole took our family pictures while we were in Logan for Thanksgiving!!! They turned out pretty cute.....way better then I thought!!! Thanks again Nicole you are an amazing friend and photographer!!!

Santa!

Peyton had her first "real" experience with Santa tonight!!! It was pretty cute. While waiting in line she could hardly wait to get up to the front of the line......then when it was her turn she looked a little nervous. She sat on Santa's lap for about 1.2 seconds and jumped off. I then told her that she needs to sit on his lap for a quick picture and she would get a coloring book from him!! After our pep talk she jumped back up on his lap, got her picture taken, and then he gave her a coloring book. Then she hugged him and said "Thank you!" I think in her picture she still looks a little nervous!!!

Happy Turkey Day!

We are headed out in a few hours to Logan to spend Thanksgiving with Joel's family. We are all pretty excited to be there. It's been almost a year since the last time we were even in Logan. I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!!! This year Joel and I have a lot to be thankful for. Some of the obvious are that he still has a job unlike most people who are struggling to find one, actually we are so grateful that he is starting a new one. We are also grateful to have such a beautiful little girl who even at times drives us totally crazy, we are so thankful to have her in our life's. The other most important thing we are thankful for is the wonderful family who we have and who love us so much. I don't know what we would do without all of our family!!! There is so much more to be thankful for.........but not enough time to type it all out!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

3 Weeks Away.......

Yes it's true in 3 weeks Joel will be headed off on a plane early morning and will be leaving Peyton and I both behind. O how I wish I could go with him.......okay maybe not with him because I am sure it would be really boring and not fun living in a hotel for 3.5 months. But I really, really wish I could just drop everything here and run home to my parents for 3.5 months. But since I have a really great job here I can't exactly do that.

With Joel getting ready to leave soon I have been getting the house in order for him to go. By that I mean I have been getting every kind of lock for t he doors, new curtains to hide behind, sticks for all my windows so nobody can sneak through the windows at night, and all the extra things like mace and a big knife since Joel won't let me have a gun. I know it sounds foolish with all of that but there have been so so many break-ins in the last month that I am a little scared for my life and Peyton's. I know we will be fine but I am taking extra precautions to make sure we stay safe. Nobody better mess with me!!!

Merry Christmas Early!

I know it's still over a month away but I had to share with all what I got for Christmas. Yes, I was bad and got it early. With Joel leaving in exactly 3 weeks (tear, tear) I thought I would get it early and put it all together. Also my parents were in town this last weekend and they were here to help us put it together. So you may be asking what I got.........Well my parents and Joel all pitched in for this.........
I LOVE IT!!!! Joel and I have been needing a new dinning room table for some time now. We have had the same one since we first got married and it has been through a lot. Even with me re-painting it almost 2 years ago I still needed to part away from it. Thanks again so much Mom, Dad, and Joel for the wonderful table!!!

Update on Peyton

I just thought I would give everyone a little update on Peyton and her collarbone. She has been out of the sling since last Saturday. The doctor said she only needed to wear the sling for 2 weeks and see how she is after that, if she acts like she still needs the sling then she can wear it. She is still miking her injury when ever I ask her to do something and will say "my arm hurts." I think she says it as an excuse not to do something. The one thing that I have noticed about the whole injury is since she got injured she has been a whiner. She hardly ever use to whine and now she whines all the time. I am hoping she gets over that soon before it drives me crazy.

Tough Girl

Peyton is probably one of the toughest little girls I know. We survived the night last night although it was long and rough not only on Peyton but on mom too. Peyton fell asleep on the couch while watching Sleeping Beauty. I didn't want to move her to transport her to her bed and I didn't want her to sleep out there alone in case she needed me in the night. So I slept on my ottoman........let me tell you have comfy that was!!!

Last night she did well for sleeping. She did wake in the night but she didn't scream out of pain except one time when I woke and saw her bad arm high in the air. She was half asleep and didn't know what she was doing. She did wake nice and early this morning to watch Sleeping Beauty. After a warm bath, clean jammies, food in her tummy, and some medicine she is a happy camper. I asked her if I could take a picture of her to show every one her shoulder and she couldn't wait to say cheese!!!

I will keep you posted and let you all know how she is doing. We meet with the specialist next Monday, Tuesday by the latest to make sure she doesn't have to put out to have her collarbone set. Cross your fingers that we don't' have to go that route.

More Trauma

Yes once again trauma has struck our family........Today I got a call from Peyton's daycare teacher Jodie. She sounded calm when she called and I didn't think much about the call till she started talking me to about Peyton and what had happened. While Peyton was suppose to be napping she decided it was time to play instead of sleep. When Jodie heard noises coming from the playroom where other children where sleeping she went to peek in to see who wasn't sleeping. Sure enough it was my child!!! As soon as Peyton noticed Jodie, Peyton knew she was being naughty and was suppose to be sleeping, so she ran to her sleep mat. Well Peyton slipped and fell on her mat. She landed right on her right shoulder. I wasn't there to witness it and honestly I am glad I wasn't. From the sounds of it Peyton was screaming and crying. Peyton is a tough kid when it comes to getting bumped up or any other little fall or scratches. Well to make a long story short I showed up to Peyton's daycare and called Joel to have him meet me at the Doc in the box. After almost 3 hours of being there and 3 x-rays later they told us SHE BROKE HER COLLARBONE. I really wasn't surprised because of how much pain she seemed to be in. All in all she is doing fine and I think she will recover fast. I will post a couple of pictures tomorrow of her cute sling which is Snoopy!! That is if she lets me......I have never seen her so cranky to me or Joel before!!!

Jelly Bean Trauma

Peyton had her experience of stuffing something into her nose. A few nights ago she stuffed a jelly bean in her nose. I thought for sure we were going to have to take her to the ER. After working on it for what seemed like forever she finally shot it out with a strong blowing action!!! It was scary but pretty funny at the same time. That's Peyton for you never knowing what she will do next, lets hope she learned her lesson this time!!

It's Official!

Yes you read my title correctly.....now you may be asking yourself what's official. Joel is now the newest employee for Geico. We have been waiting patiently for the answer that he got the job. Even though Joel had great confidence the is always that chance they might go with someone else. Joel's starting date for his new job is December 8th. There are pros and cons to all jobs and the first and biggest con to his new job is that he leaves Peyton and I on December 7th for almost 4 months for major training in AZ.......YIKES!!! I ask myself how am I going to do it without him, I still don't have the answer to that one but I'm just hoping the time will fly by fast. He still isn't sure what his plans are for Christmas since they haven't really told him. He has heard 3 different stories #1 you get a week off to fly home, #2 you get to fly home Christmas Eve night and fly back to AZ Christmas night, #3 you get to stay at training in AZ while your family enjoys Christmas without you! I am really hoping for the first one. I will keep you posted.

Joel is so excited for his new job and can't wait to get started. He just wishes he could start sooner.

Time w/Bobba!!

We got the pleasure of having my dad stay the night with us a few nights ago. He was just headed home from a hunting trip and wanted to have a little relaxing before he took the 9 hour drive home. We enjoyed so much having my dad here just hanging out!!! Peyton got her first look at a dead deer.......she was pretty amazed by it.

Here is Peyton and her Bobba showing off the deer he shot

The morning before he left Peyton wanted my dad to read a story. Peyton loves hearing stories. I thought this was too cute of them not to post. They both had there camo on!!!

Even though my dad couldn't stay every long we had lots of fun.....mom we wish you were there!! Thanks for the fun time dad and making memories for Peyton of her and her Bobba.

No Jinxing!!

I had to fill everyone in on the great news!!! But like my title says I hope this doesn't jinx things. Peyton has been wearing panties since Friday with NO ACCIDENTS!!!!! I think she finally 'Gets It!" Saturday while we were out and about all day long Peyton got to experience all the public restrooms. She was so good and kept telling me she had to go potty. Way to go Peyton!

Poor Peyton

Peyton has gotten it........the sickness that is going around. She has been fighting it for the past 5 days and after a long night last night of her coughing and her saying that her ears hurt I decided to take her in to the Doc in the box!! She was so good while there at the doctors office. She loved being there!! After a long time at the doctors he wrote us up some RX's and sent us on our way. I am now at home with a sick child feeling bored!!!!!

Witch

Today we spent most of the morning looking at costumes at the mall for Halloween. After a long decision she decided on this one!!! I think it's pretty cute and I think she will enjoy wearing it.

Blah Blog......

I know my blog isn't looking that great. I am having a major creative block. I think Halloweens blog will be better!!!!

Sad News.....

I hate to even post this but I just have to let everyone know. We no longer have Zoey. A few weeks ago when we were in Twin Falls for Labor day we took Zoey with us. That weekend there were a lot of people there and it was the first weekend Zoey was around a lot of people she doesn't know. That weekend she snapped at my niece and at my sister-in-law. Then last week she snapped at Joel twice in one night. I just didn't know I felt about keeping her since Peyton has already been bit by a dog I take this very seriously. I can't even think about how I would feel if Zoey would have gotten Peyton or any other child. I don't think I could ever forgive myself. So after a long talk with Joel and a lot of thinking I decided she needed to go to a new family with older kids and somewhere she wouldn't have to be in a crate all day long. We all miss you especially Peyton but we know it's for the best not only for Zoey but for our family. I think we will wait to try for another dog once we can all have more time with her and when Peyton gets much older.

Sara Evans Concert

Friday night Joel, Peyton and I headed out to a concert with some friends Jodie and Trevor and there little girl Maycielyn!!! We had so so so much fun!!! It was an outside concert and the weather was perfect. The little girls actually did really well for it going so late and with how many people there were. The concert started with One Flew South, then James Otto, and then ended with Sara Evans!!!! We had a great time and a lot of fun!

The girls dancing!

Jodie and me

The cutest girls there!

Goofy Joel and me

By the end of the night the girls were tired and the guys were ready to go.
Jodie and I were still ready to party!!

Boondocks Fun!!

A few weeks ago our friends from Twin came for the day to have some fun!!! We had a great day playing all day at Boondocks and then ended the evening with eating at the cheesecake Factory. It was so much fun and it made all all remember how badly we miss them. Thanks again Krystal for driving up and spending the day with us!!!

Trash Digger

Quick little update on Zoey. We are still loving her and having fun with her. But she has her moments that make me not want her........for example she LOVES to dig in the garbage. GROSS.....I remember we had a dog growing up that also liked to do this. It drives me crazy and I hate it more than anything when dogs do that kind of stuff. I hope she will learn soon that it's not okay especially in this house to do that. Potty training has been going really well!!! I will say it has been a few days since I have cleaned anything poop or pee!!!

BUSTED!!!!

The other morning I was just finishing up getting ready for work when I think to myself Peyton sure is being quiet.......no 2.5 year old is ever quiet. As I finished up what I was doing I come into the kitchen to find Peyton doing this.......

Yes, that is Peyton eating from the pan of brownies. No wonder why she was so quiet. She ate like a 1/4 of it before I busted her.........Little Stinker!!!

Sh-wheat-ie

Peyton has official changed her name. I don't know how I feel about this but for the time being Peyton no longer goes by Peyton and goes by sh-wheat-ie. I don't know what has gotten into her but every time I say her name she stops me and says "No mommy I'm sh-wheat-ie!" every once in a while when I do call her sweetie she will say "No mom I Peyton now!" It's really cute I just don't know where she is getting it from!!!

Breaking Dawn

I have had Breaking Dawn now for 6 days and thought I would already be done with it. I am struggling to get it done because I have been super busy. Every time I sit down to read I am interrupted by my lovely little daughter. I hope in a week I can finish it. I am planning on staying up for most of the night just to get it done. I really need to finish before I go crazy!!!!

Zoey Update!!

It has been 3 days with our new puppy Zoey!! I just wanted to give everyone a quick little update on how the little girl is doing. She has only had one accident so far in our house. She is doing amazingly well at this whole potty thing. Lets just hope she keeps it up. As far as sleeping goes we have tried to put her in her cage at night and it's been a little heart-breaking to hear her cry and whine. So for the last 3 nights she has ended up in our bed. Peyton absolutely loves her so much and talks about her non stop. It's been a HUGE adjustment getting Zoey but we love her so much!!

New Addition To The Family!!

I am jumping for joy right now!!! Joel finally gave in to getting a family dog. We picked out sweet little girl up tonight and have been having tons of fun with her since we got her. Peyton just loves her to death and doesn't' want to stop holding her and following her around the house. Bedtime tonight was a huge ordeal because Peyton wanted the puppy to sleep with her. We asked Peyton what she wanted to name the puppy!! Peyton's first response was "puppy?" Then it was "doggie?" Then after a few more names like Gretchen (who is my moms dogs name) then Maddie (who is my aunts dogs name) she finally decided on Zoey!!! We love this little puppy so much and can't wait for the fun she brings to our daily busy life!

Girly Girl

Peyton is such a girly girl. She loves anything to do with babies, dress up, make-up, cooking, cleaning, and pretty much anything else that is girly!!! Today when we got home from running errands I caught Peyton in the bathroom trying on every piece of hair thing she owns. She asked me " Mom I look pretty?" Yes she looked very pretty!!

Wii Fit

I just wanted to share with everyone that I am now a proud owner of Wii Fit!!! I have been wanting this for some time. Did you know how hard it was to find?? I would call around to stores looking for one and today my calling paid off. It was the only one that got shipped to them today and the only one for weeks. If you don't know much about the wii fit you should definitely look into it. Buying this instead of buying a gym membership is going to save me tons of money, and I can do it in my house whenever I want! I love it because it tracks your progress, figures out your BMI, and it helps you set goals you can achieve!! I am trying to lose 20 pounds by October!! I think if I truly work hard and have fun I will be able to achieve my goal!! I will have to keep everyone posted on how things are going.

Fun with Mom

With today being my day off (Wednesdays) Peyton and I decided to have a fun day together. We started our day by sleeping in and then having breakfast!! We then decided to put on our swim suits and head outside. We spent most of the morning just hanging out in the backyard. Peyton did some swimming/playing in her pool and I sat by the pool reading my book!! After awhile it was already time to have lunch. We decided to have a little picnic on the grass. After that we thought it would be fun to paint our toes!! We hung out a little more in the sun and then decided it was time for a nap. Yes even I laid down and took a nap!! It feels great to do that every once and awhile. After we woke Peyton really wanted some milk. We didn't have any and so we got out the stroller and walked to Albertsons!! What a fun and tiring day. I know Peyton is going to sleep well tonight!!

Peyton loves getting her toes painted

So cute!

Being outside this long can result to this.......even with all the coats of 50SPF this can still happen. Poor girl!!

Swimming Pool

Peyton's new favorite thing to do is go swimming. She loves to be outside and has always been an outside kinda of girl. While in Twin last weekend she did some swimming with her cousin and had so much fun. On Saturday before my parents headed home they thought it would be fun for her to have a pool. We had been looking for one since that Thursday and hadn't found one I think because the weather has been so nice and everyone wanted a pool. We ended up finding one and it's awesome!! Peyton loves it and I can't even tell you how many hours she has already spent in it.....TONS!!! Thanks mom and dad for getting her such a fun summer pool!!

This is the first day we put it up!! She was so excited she didn't even want to put her whole swim suit on

Here she is cooling off with a little drink from the pool

4th of July

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I know I am late at posting but with a 2 uear old and working full time I never feel like I have a free minute. We had a pretty good 4th. Peyton and I got to spend it wil my parents, my aunt and uncle, and my grandma Tegan!! Joel was suppose to meet us for a fun weekend but he was deathly ill and couldn't make it. Here are some fun pictures of a fun weekend.

Swinging

Peyton loves swinging so much. Joel and I are thinking about getting a swing set if they weren't too spendy. I have been checking craigslist often because sometimes you can find such great deals on there. At my brothers house, Tyson, he has this swing that hangs from a tree. It reminds me of something I had done when I was little. Peyton loved it so much and had a ton of fun. I took a few pictures of her on the swing and they turned out pretty cute!!
