Comet and a New Vacuum

So with that person gone that I was talking about in my earlier post, these last couple weeks have been a trial for me. Peyton really knows how to push my buttons and by that I mean ALL of my buttons. She has really been testing me lately thinking she will get away with more things. I feel like all I have been doing lately is yelling at her to stop that, knock that off, please listen to me, and the list goes on and on and on!!

I know this time with Peyton one on one has been good and will be good for both of us, if we can just continue to not totally drive each other crazy. So the whole reason why my post title says Comet and a New Vacuum is because of this.......

On Saturday I was doing a little cleaning around my house and Peyton wanted to help. When she wants to help I just give her a damp cloth and tell her to go wipe down her room. Well this last time Peyton thought she was being extra helpful.

When ever I clean and vacuum I usually use that carpet odor stuff......you know the stuff that looks like baby powder. Apparently Peyton found the comet and thought it was my carpet stuff. She went around the living room and hall way dumping that stuff EVERYWHERE. When I came out of my room to check on her she had already used the whole, almost full can, of comet. All I could do was scream. My first thought was it would bleach my carpet if I didn't get it off immediately. I hurried and vacuumed the huge mess almost choking to death from the comet dust. After it was cleaned up I went to vacuum my bedroom and noticed that my vacuum was no longer sucking anything up and only shooting out comet dust. I decided to take the whole vacuum apart and clean it thinking that this would help. Today I went to vacuum up a mess Peyton had created on my floor. The vacuum didn't work again. After looking at it I knew we would have to get a new one. So off to Target we went. The thing that makes me the maddest is that the old vacuum we had wasn't even old......we bought it about 10 months ago :( I hope this new one can handle all of Peyton's messes!

Kohls and No Keys.....

The other day I ran to Kohls to get a quick shirt for this BBQ we were having at work and I didn't have the right shirt to wear. I thought I would just run in and out and hurry home because Peyton was tired and ready for a nap.

We got to Kohls and I put Peyton in a basket thing, not the one with the stroller because apparently Peyton thinks she's too big for a stroller. I ran to the junior section to look for my shirt. I found it fast and was headed to check out when I thought to myself "I wonder if they are having a sell on shoes?!" Silly me headed over to shoes and looked for a bit and got totally side tracked. I then headed throughout the store looking at all their goods. I finally decided I had enough whining from Peyton and headed for check out with my few great things I found. After paying I went and dug through my purse and was looking for my keys. I kept digging knowing that they were in there because I remembered locking the door. I start to panic when I have dumped out my whole purse and still no keys. I was so upset because they were know where to be found. While we were shopping I remember Peyton was being naughty and going through my purse and trying to entertain herself while I shopped.

To make a long story short I lost my keys in Kohls, had no cell phone because it was locked in the car, Joel was at work 35 mins away and I had a 2 year old that was ready for nap about to make me go crazy!!!! After being there for 2 hours I finally got Joel to come pick me up and take Peyton. After all the time looking I finally gave up and was headed out to my car with Joel's car keys. I noticed a bright color thing in a stroller basket and went and looked in. There they were my keys. My only guess is another little kids found them and was playing with them and put them in the stroller basket. I am just thankful to have found them!!!

Please Can We??

I think it's been way too long to be asking for something and still I am not hearing the right answer. I can't tell you how much I would love a dog for our family. I have been asking Joel for one since we got married. You think about almost 4 years he would give in.......NOPE!! Now that we aren't living in apartments and actually have a house not to mention a fenced back yard, I think it would be great. Peyton adores dogs so much and I know she would love to have a little fluff ball running around chasing her. I haven't given up on my quest to get Joel to say yes. Even with my birthday on Friday Joel was asking me what I wanted and I told him all I want is a puppy. He laughed and said NO!!!!!! So I'm pretty sure my dream of having a little animal friend in the near future is out of the question. grrr!

Why do kids do what they do?

The other day I was on the computer, which is in our bedroom, and suddenly Peyton came running into the bedroom. She smelled like poop and just keep saying "O NO!" I figured she had just pooped in her diaper and I didn't really pay too much attention when she first came in. Because many times in the day she runs in saying "O NO!" about everything. I just wanted to hurry and finsish what I was doing then change her. Peyton then again said "O NO!" And then said "NO NO NO!" And by this time she pulled my hand away from the computer to pull me away. I got a really strong smell of poop and it felt like something was all over her hand. I looked down at her again and saw no pull up on her and saw poop every where.

I went running into the living room to find she had taken off her pull up and pooped on the carpet. To make things worse I think she thought it was something to play with because she had poop smeared into the carpet and on the leather ottomen. Not to mention she had it all over her feet and hands and I had little poop foot prints all the way down my hall. What a mess it was to clean up!!

Candy For Breakfast?

So my lovely child has a big morning problem lately. For some apparent reason she thinks it's okay to have candy for breakfast. I think she got the idea from her dad who does eat candy for breakfast and feels like if he can do it why can't she??

In the past I have given in to her by giving her a few m&m's in the morning to get her morning off right but as of lately I have been putting my foot down. This morning I wouldn't give into her and it was the end of the world in our house at 8:30 this morning!!! She threw the biggest fit by kicking and screaming and throwing herself down on the kitchen floor. I could hardly contain myself by not laughing because it was so funny. So do I give in to her because her dad eats it and she doesn't understand why she can't have it or do I stop buying it so that it's not in my house and we don't have to start our day off with a fight?? Personally I think Joel would go crazy if we didn't have some kind of candy in the house!

Sharpie

Look at that face!! She looks so innocent!!

I can not believe what a 20 months old little girl can do in about 5 mins time. Peyton must have snuck into the kitchen and grab a sharpie from the junk drawer, because I don't know where else she would have found one.

Here she is knocking the bathroom door. She knew she need to get cleaned up because of the mess she made!

It looks like Peyton had a lot of fun with the sharpie. From coloring all over her chair, her face, her clothes, and my leather ottoman. When I saw this my first reaction was "NO!" Then I started to laugh and take pictures. I was on the phone with my mom and so deep in conversation that I didn't realize what she had done until I noticed she wasn't making any noise at all. I guess that is the first sign that your child is doing something naughty. Peyton's poor chair now has to go away.......it looks like it came from the D.I. which it actually came from Target and was a gift from my neighbor to her. And my poor ottoman, I got most of the sharpie off but it's now a little discolored due to the nail polish remover that I tried on it.

I guess people with kids just shouldn't have nice things. It doesn't matter how careful you are something will always happen or get ruined with little ones!!

Here is her chair that looks awful now!

Gitty Up!!

Ever since I brought those cute pink cowgirl boots home all Peyton ever wants to wear is those and nothing else!! Every morning when she gets out of the tub she runs to her room and tries to get her boots done from the armoire that they are in. And if she doesn't get to wear them she throws a huge fit and screams. I think the boots are pretty cute myself, but she needs to understand you can't just wear them and nothing else!!

Can you say tired?

Well let me start off by saying that Peyton has been going through a really bad phase right now. It all started about two weeks ago. She has a problem with not wanting to go to bed at night. And she has a problem with not wanting to take a nap either.

I am not sure what has changed and why she doesn't want to sleep because she has always been such a great sleeper. Well with her not taking naps like she should be this is what happens when dinner time rolls around at night. Once that little belly is full she is out!! I can't even believe she fell asleep in her high-chair!! I really hope she gets out of this phase soon!! It is wearing her out! O am me too!!

Ranch Dressing

Today at lunch time I was laughing so much that I had to run and grab the camera. Peyton's new favorite thing is ranch dressing. She LOVES it on almost anything. But she especially loves it with chicken nuggets. Today and lunch after she decided she didn't want anymore chicken she decided to dump her plate over to get rid of the chicken. Then she decided to lick her plate and eat only the ranch dressing. It was such a mess and her hair looks so funny. It looks like I put too much wax or gel in it.........but really it's from the ranch. I can't believe how greasy that stuff is!!

Rain rain go away!!

Well today it has been raining all day long. And Peyton and I are still sick. So we stayed home from church today and had just a lazy day on the couch watching movies. But I was thinking how nice it would be to take a trip to a warm place that had a beach and lots of sand to run your toes through. I really need a vacation from all this rain and cold weather. I also need a vacation away from Twin Falls and a little get away with Joel. But I guess I will just have to wait till next year!!

Sick.........

Well we have all come down with the cold that is going around. Poor Peyton has it the worst and all she wants to do is sleep and when she's not sleeping she is crying or eating her snot that is dripping down from her nose. I feel so awful because there isn't much that I can do for her. Hopefully it will pass soon before we fly out on Thursday for Washington!
