Sunny Weather!

Yes Boise has finally been blessed with warmth.  The last few weeks have been in the high 50's low 60's.  Its been capri appropriate weather!!  O how I love the sun.  Im super excited for summer.  I think one of the biggest things I am excited for this summer is all the swimming and playing Peyton and I will be doing.  Plus since I have lost 25 pounds in the last 6 months I am excited to wear summer clothes!!  Here are a few shots of Peyton at the park with her friend Cole.  Peyton was so excited to be outside for longer then 5 mins without freezing.

The Best Mommy Ever!

I hear several times daily these sweet remarks from Peyton:

  • You're the best mommy ever!
  • You're the awesomeness mommy!
  • Mom you're my best friend.
  • Mom you're the super, awesome, best mommy ever.
  • Mom have I told you that you're the coolest mommy ever
I think it's pretty awesome that Peyton thinks I'm so cool. hahaha Too bad it won't last forever.  One day she will know the truth that Im just normal!  And last night I hear from Peyton's room as Joel is trying to tell her a story "Daddy you suck, mommy can you tell me a story?"

Sneaky Girl

If I am upstairs calling for Peyton, or anywhere else for that matter (besides the kitchen) and she doesn't answer me or there is just too much quiet going on. I come down to usually find her doing this......

Doesn't frozen whip cream sound so good on an empty tummy.......YUCK!  You usually doesn't sit at the counter and usually hides on the ground on the other side of the island in our kitchen so I can't see her.  She has eaten so much whip cream, and hot butter rum mix that is frozen in our freezer in the last few weeks.  I think it's time to just toss it all.  It's not like we will be eating/using any of it!

Fun Week Ends with Sickness

So after Peyton's crazy birthday week/weekend she woke up that Monday morning coughing and snotty.  The poor girl was so sick and couldn't even go to daycare that day.  Joel stayed home with her as I went to work and my parents loaded up there stuff and left that morning as well.  It was a sad day for Peyton as she had to stay home with dad and everyone else left her.  The next two days I was home with her as I don't work Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.  On Wednesday morning Peyton woke up still not feeling well and asked me to make her a special get better breakfast.  This is what she wanted!

Pink French Toast
and Pink Milk!

Of course she wanted pink french toast and pink milk!  After she ate two pieces of the pink french toast  and drank her pink milk I asked if that made her feel better.  She said no that she was still really sick and that the only thing was that her tummy was really full!  Im hoping she can get better soon.  She still has the sickness and has had it for a week now.

Peyton's Birthday Party

So even after Peyton's big special day she had an awesome birthday party that Saturday following her birthday.  Her party was at Monkey Business.  It's probably one of the coolest places to have a birthday party.  She had tons of friends there.  I think there was a total of about 14 kids.  My parents drove here from Washington, and my sister and her two youngest kids flew here for it.  Peyton has so many people that love her and wanted to share her party with her.

So this Monkey Business place does it all.  They were so organized which if you know me thats a huge plus to anything.  The kids got to play around in the jungle area.  They had a rock climbing wall, a huge blow up slide, a blow up obstacle course, and climb house, and a kiddie area for the little ones.  There was so much fun stuff to do.  Even the adults got very involved as all the toys are made for adults and they look to fun not to play on them.  Here are a few pictures of her fun party!

Thank you to everyone who made Peyton's birthday one of the best!  We love you all so much!

Peyton The Big 4 Year Old!

Where does the time go?  I feel like just the other day we were traveling home from the hospital trying to make it home in one piece because there was a fresh layer of snow on the ground and every car around us was making me nervous.  All I wanted to do was get our new baby girl home safe!  Now here we are four years later and still the biggest part of my life.  She is the funniest little thing full of life, the most sassiest, full of attitude, and always too much energy.  But without all of that life would suck, lets just be honest kids make the world turn and make moms hair eventually turn gray!

So for Peyton's actually birthday we spend the day having a Peyton day.  Anything she wanted to do was what we did.  Although I did have one surprise for her.  We started the day off with a normal morning and breakfast and people who love her calling her to wish her happy birthday.  We got ready and I asked her where she wanted to go for lunch.  So we ate lunch at Quiznos.  Peyton was dying for some soup from there.  Silly girl, most kids would want to go to McDonalds or Burger King but my health freak little sass wanted soup........after lunch we went to the cupcake store and she got to pick out some cupcakes for her special day.  Eight cupcakes and $26.89 later I then realized that cupcake store was a HUGE rip off.

The next part of our day consisted of my surprise for the little diva.  She kept asking me where I was talking her and what my big surprise was.  The little stink said at one point "I hope it's really cool mom and not lame!"  Seriously did she just say that I thought?  Of course it's cool Peyton does mom ever do anything lame?  The answer to that would be NO!

Okay so we finally make it to our place of fun and Peyton was sooo excited to enter in not even knowing what it was that we where there to do.  I took Peyton to a place called Monkey Dooz.  It's a kids salon where they can have basically any treatment an adult would do or want.  So Peyton spent the afternoon getting a manicure and a pedicure.  Then she got her hair all done with lots of curls and glitter. And the finally touch was glitter make-up.  She was one sparkly girl and loved all the shine.  Plus the whole time she was there she had this huge fruity drink with tons of whip cream on it.  She kept telling me she was the princess and that it was her day!  She was so correct on all of that.  Here are some of the pictures from her Monkey Dooz experience.

After we were finished up there we went home and waited for dad and uncle Taylor to get there because then we were headed to dinner.  Peyton chose to go to On the Border.  She loves mexican food and loves there chips and queso.  At dinner I asked the lady to sing happy birthday to Peyton and the lady said they no longer do that anymore.  So instead they bought Peyton a big brownie with ice-cream.  I pretty sure she ate the whole thing.  Her dad tried to help her and little miss thing said "it's mine and my birthday and you can't have any!"

We then headed home where we sang happy birthday I think she ate a cupcake and opened her presents.  She got tons of awesome stuff.  She told me it was the best birthday day ever!  I think it was successful as well.

Dance Recital

Peyton had her very first dance recital on December 16th. She was so so excited and couldn't wait for the that evening to get all dolled up with make-up and her hair all curled.

I was hoping that little miss thing would do great as her uncle was coming to watch her perform. We got there an hour early and they had there rehearsal before the big show started. We were so excited and waiting for Peyton's dance to come on couldn't wait to watch her light up the stage. This little girl knew her dance so well and would perform it at home for us any chance I would let her!

It was now Peyton's turn to dance.......the curtains open and there they are all ready to dance! They all looked so cute, the music starts and all the girls start and look so cute as they are all on key! It was great and I was so proud of Peyton for being a big girl!! After dancing for about 45 seconds the little girl next to Peyton decided to run off the stage. Peyton sees this and thinks she will join her. So then we see Peyton running off the stage after Madison and leaving her dance and all behind her. Next you see Peyton's teacher Miss Kami bring the girls back out on stage. Peyton then stand there staring at her teacher that is off on the side of the stage and glares at her teacher the whole rest of the dance.

Peyton is a very stubborn girl. If she doesn't agree with something she will let you know. I'm pretty sure that because her teacher brought them back out on stage she was upset and then decided to not dance the rest of the time. When the whole recital was over I asked her what happened. Her response was "Mom the curtains were so big and scary, and there were way too many people there watching me!" I don't blame her to a point because there were probably about 250 people watching all those little girls!!

I was so sad that she didn't finish her dance and that she chose to be a stinker. I'm hoping that her next recital will go better and she doesn't decide to run off the stage.

Peyton with her uncle Taylor! She LOVES him sooo much!

B-e-d T-i-m-e

Every night for the past week Peyton has not wanted to go to bed........Every night our conversation goes something like this:

Me: "Peyton it's time to start cleaning up your toys and getting ready for bed."

Peyton: "No mom the sun is still out, it's not bed time."

Me: "Peyton you need to go to bed before the sun because you get up earlier then the sun."

Peyton: "No mom I will go to bed when the sun is in bed and I will wake up when the sun is awake."

She clearly doesn't understand that she can't stay up till 10 every night. Why do kids hate bed times so much?

Dentist

Yesterday Peyton went to the dentist.......I know what your thinking......that's easy!! Well Peyton didn't go for a cleaning. She had a cleaning about 2 weeks ago where they discovered she has 6 cavities. This was so devastating for me because I'm so great about brushing her teeth and doing fluoride. But the sugar bugs still found her.

Yesterday she had her first appointment to do some fillings. Dr. Yun and I both didn't know how she would do. Surprisingly enough she did great!!!! Dr. Yun was SO shocked as well as I was. Peyton had to get a shot and 2 cavities filled yesterday and she didn't move the whole time they were doing them. She got an A+++++ plus a toy, and some ice-cream after!!! She goes back in another couple weeks to do some more. Lets just hope she's as good then as she was yesterday.

Daycare.....

I don't think many people know but Peyton started a new daycare about 2 weeks ago. We were really sad to have to do this. Our other daycare provider was moving too far away for us to continue to take her there. After stressing about it long enough a lady that I work with told me her daughter-n-law does daycare. I was excited to meet her and see how Peyton acted with her and the other kids. The first day I thought she would be scared and not want us to leave her. She was so excited to go there and couldn't wait for us to leave. I guess that's a good sign right??

I thought I would post a couple of fun pics that Jessica took of her while on a little field trip to the YMCA......

haha this was before her haircut!!!

Peyton and her new cute friend Kaylie!!!

Im just so glad that Peyton adjusted so well to the new daycare. I know change can be good but hard on little ones. Im so glad that I found her!!!

Hair Cut Time

So last week when Nicole was here Bella went and got a hair cut. After picking her up Peyton was begging to go get her hair cut. After all morning of her begging I decided to give-in and let her get it done. Peyton had so much fun and was so excited to get it done. Here are a few snap shots of the process......

Washing her hair.....

Sge held so still and didn't move once.......I need to post a final photo of her cute hair. The lady did an A-Line with layers. It looks really cute when it's all done!

Comet and a New Vacuum

So with that person gone that I was talking about in my earlier post, these last couple weeks have been a trial for me. Peyton really knows how to push my buttons and by that I mean ALL of my buttons. She has really been testing me lately thinking she will get away with more things. I feel like all I have been doing lately is yelling at her to stop that, knock that off, please listen to me, and the list goes on and on and on!!

I know this time with Peyton one on one has been good and will be good for both of us, if we can just continue to not totally drive each other crazy. So the whole reason why my post title says Comet and a New Vacuum is because of this.......

On Saturday I was doing a little cleaning around my house and Peyton wanted to help. When she wants to help I just give her a damp cloth and tell her to go wipe down her room. Well this last time Peyton thought she was being extra helpful.

When ever I clean and vacuum I usually use that carpet odor stuff......you know the stuff that looks like baby powder. Apparently Peyton found the comet and thought it was my carpet stuff. She went around the living room and hall way dumping that stuff EVERYWHERE. When I came out of my room to check on her she had already used the whole, almost full can, of comet. All I could do was scream. My first thought was it would bleach my carpet if I didn't get it off immediately. I hurried and vacuumed the huge mess almost choking to death from the comet dust. After it was cleaned up I went to vacuum my bedroom and noticed that my vacuum was no longer sucking anything up and only shooting out comet dust. I decided to take the whole vacuum apart and clean it thinking that this would help. Today I went to vacuum up a mess Peyton had created on my floor. The vacuum didn't work again. After looking at it I knew we would have to get a new one. So off to Target we went. The thing that makes me the maddest is that the old vacuum we had wasn't even old......we bought it about 10 months ago :( I hope this new one can handle all of Peyton's messes!

Santa!

Peyton had her first "real" experience with Santa tonight!!! It was pretty cute. While waiting in line she could hardly wait to get up to the front of the line......then when it was her turn she looked a little nervous. She sat on Santa's lap for about 1.2 seconds and jumped off. I then told her that she needs to sit on his lap for a quick picture and she would get a coloring book from him!! After our pep talk she jumped back up on his lap, got her picture taken, and then he gave her a coloring book. Then she hugged him and said "Thank you!" I think in her picture she still looks a little nervous!!!

Update on Peyton

I just thought I would give everyone a little update on Peyton and her collarbone. She has been out of the sling since last Saturday. The doctor said she only needed to wear the sling for 2 weeks and see how she is after that, if she acts like she still needs the sling then she can wear it. She is still miking her injury when ever I ask her to do something and will say "my arm hurts." I think she says it as an excuse not to do something. The one thing that I have noticed about the whole injury is since she got injured she has been a whiner. She hardly ever use to whine and now she whines all the time. I am hoping she gets over that soon before it drives me crazy.

Tough Girl

Peyton is probably one of the toughest little girls I know. We survived the night last night although it was long and rough not only on Peyton but on mom too. Peyton fell asleep on the couch while watching Sleeping Beauty. I didn't want to move her to transport her to her bed and I didn't want her to sleep out there alone in case she needed me in the night. So I slept on my ottoman........let me tell you have comfy that was!!!

Last night she did well for sleeping. She did wake in the night but she didn't scream out of pain except one time when I woke and saw her bad arm high in the air. She was half asleep and didn't know what she was doing. She did wake nice and early this morning to watch Sleeping Beauty. After a warm bath, clean jammies, food in her tummy, and some medicine she is a happy camper. I asked her if I could take a picture of her to show every one her shoulder and she couldn't wait to say cheese!!!

I will keep you posted and let you all know how she is doing. We meet with the specialist next Monday, Tuesday by the latest to make sure she doesn't have to put out to have her collarbone set. Cross your fingers that we don't' have to go that route.

More Trauma

Yes once again trauma has struck our family........Today I got a call from Peyton's daycare teacher Jodie. She sounded calm when she called and I didn't think much about the call till she started talking me to about Peyton and what had happened. While Peyton was suppose to be napping she decided it was time to play instead of sleep. When Jodie heard noises coming from the playroom where other children where sleeping she went to peek in to see who wasn't sleeping. Sure enough it was my child!!! As soon as Peyton noticed Jodie, Peyton knew she was being naughty and was suppose to be sleeping, so she ran to her sleep mat. Well Peyton slipped and fell on her mat. She landed right on her right shoulder. I wasn't there to witness it and honestly I am glad I wasn't. From the sounds of it Peyton was screaming and crying. Peyton is a tough kid when it comes to getting bumped up or any other little fall or scratches. Well to make a long story short I showed up to Peyton's daycare and called Joel to have him meet me at the Doc in the box. After almost 3 hours of being there and 3 x-rays later they told us SHE BROKE HER COLLARBONE. I really wasn't surprised because of how much pain she seemed to be in. All in all she is doing fine and I think she will recover fast. I will post a couple of pictures tomorrow of her cute sling which is Snoopy!! That is if she lets me......I have never seen her so cranky to me or Joel before!!!

Jelly Bean Trauma

Peyton had her experience of stuffing something into her nose. A few nights ago she stuffed a jelly bean in her nose. I thought for sure we were going to have to take her to the ER. After working on it for what seemed like forever she finally shot it out with a strong blowing action!!! It was scary but pretty funny at the same time. That's Peyton for you never knowing what she will do next, lets hope she learned her lesson this time!!
